A prestigious educational institution in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Dean for its School of Allied Health. This critical role offers an opportunity to lead and innovate within a diverse array of programs, including Paramedicine, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician, Health Information Management, and Fitness and Health Promotion, catering to approximately 600 students.

Position Overview

Location: Vaughan, Ontario, with responsibilities across multiple campuses
Salary Range: $112,226–$149,633 annually
Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing academic leadership and ensuring program objectives are achieved through effective management.
  • Managing compliance with regulatory standards and fostering the development of new programs.
  • Leading investigations and resolving complaints from students and staff.
  • Enhancing relationships with industry representatives and supporting recruitment and job placement initiatives.
  • Developing and managing the budget, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Leading student success initiatives and supporting the professional development of the mental health team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Health Science, or a related field.
  • At least 9 years of experience in academic leadership within the health sector.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, with excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Experience with curriculum development, planning, and resource management.

  • Knowledge of educational administration, budgeting, adult education, and curriculum development.

Additional Skills

  • Exceptional communication and team motivation skills.
  • Strong understanding of business and financial processes.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Experience in managing complex budgets and laboratory safety.

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work from various locations as approved, in compliance with the institution’s policies.

Salary & Benefits

  • Pay Band 13: $112,226 – $149,633 per annum, based on education and experience.
  • Eligible for performance-based pay.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including vision care.
  • Full-time position with a 37.5-hour workweek.
