An esteemed medical practice in Markham, Ontario, is actively seeking a dedicated Full-Time Nurse Practitioner with a passion for primary care. Role Requirements
- Current registration in the Extended Class (NP-Adult) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing (BScN) and a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MScN or MN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, but recent graduates from NP programs are also encouraged to apply.
- Current BCLS certification and full vaccination against COVID-19.
- Member of RNAO with professional liability insurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including health history and physical examinations.
- Provide wellness care, health screening, and education.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, and manage chronic conditions, collaborating with physicians as needed.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to assess, diagnose, order, interpret medical tests, prescribe medications, and collaborate in patient care.
- Document care in Electronic Medical Records and ensure accurate, concise, and confidential record-keeping.
- Facilitate continuity of care by collaborating with healthcare teams, including specialists.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong background in research with a history of publication is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of and exposure to issues faced by regional and rural medical education.
- Exceptional communication, management, and problem-solving skills.
