A leading educational institution in Brampton, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Research Tutor for its Family Medicine program. This unique role is essential in nurturing the research capabilities of Family Medicine residents, aligning with the practice requirements of Family Medicine.

Location: Brampton, Ontario

Responsibilities Include:

  • Educational:
    • Developing and maintaining a research skills curriculum tailored to Family Medicine residents, in alignment with the Canadian College of Family Physicians’ accreditation requirements.
    • Facilitating educational sessions, tutorials, and providing individual guidance to residents on research projects and scholarly work.
    • Contributing to the development of research educational tools and resources.
  • Administrative:
    • Participating in program committee meetings and collaborating with coordinators and other tutors to organize the annual research presentation day.
    • Assisting in the evaluation of resident research deliverables and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Medical license for practice in Ontario or a post-graduate degree (PhD or Master’s) with relevant research or teaching experience.
  • Current or eligible for a faculty appointment with the institution.
  • Strong background in research with a notable record of publication.
  • Comprehensive understanding of family medicine principles and research methodologies.
  • Experience in the healthcare and academic sectors, particularly within regional and rural contexts.

Skills:

  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in English; French/Indigenous language skills are an asset.

Remuneration:

  • Competitive, based on the stipendiary faculty remuneration process.

Time Commitment:

  • Three-quarters (0.75) of a day per week.
